my new favorite Snape fic Mar. 30th, 2005 @ 12:04 pm
is "Pet" by cluegirl and was posted today at Pornish_Pixies. It's an
excellently written take on how Snape became a Death Eater.

Fic Rec: great House MD (WIP) genfic h/c Mar. 10th, 2005 @ 01:32 pm
Intervention by Sydedalus

Here's the author's summary: The many missing scenes from "Detox" and then some.
Wilson helps House as House faces himself and his addiction.
Mostly hurt-comfort with a good deal of angst. No ships.

I think it's excellent. It appears to be the author's first fic, at least on
Fanfiction.net. It's gen. The characters are well done and seem in character
(I've only seen 2 episodes and Detox wasn't one, darn!). The medical mystery part
is very well done; I was totally stumped. I can't believe it took half the season
for me to find out that Hugh Laurie has a new series! I'm not thrilled with the
American accent; he does it well but I think his real accent is so yummy.

I hope more people will give her (I assume the writer is female) positive feedback;
I really don't want her to give up in mid-stream.

CompTIA Network+ exam Mar. 3rd, 2005 @ 07:37 pm
I passed it Friday with a score of 820 out of 900! And it seemed very easy.
Too easy (cue foreboding music).
Next up is the CCNA exam, for which I'm not ready at all. Study, study, study, or
bonk, bonk, bonk on the head (who recognizes where that's from?).

Another election stolen!!!! Dec. 21st, 2004 @ 12:35 pm
In the Ukraine, thousands of people were out demonstrating in the bitter cold. Why aren't we having a revolution over OUR stolen election?

And earlier today, a lunchtime bomb at a military mess tent killed 24 (so far) and injured 60. Yeah, we've won their hearts and minds.

Yay! A's all through, even though my final networking project was, in my opinion, crummy. I just didn't want to screw with it anymore and I didn't care about my grades, just my certification (still to finish). Now if I could just get a callback from one of the may job apps I've put in.

Speaking of politics, what's the deal with my candidate Mr. Kerry? That libelous Swift boat group puts on commercials impugning his war record and he responds by calling on Bush to scold them? Geez, John, bring up Bush's LACK of a war record cause he was too scared to serve and got Daddy to get him into the Natl Guard. Why are the Dems being such wimps? When the Republicans attack them, they need to give it right back! We can't let them just get away with this sh*t.

» Unsuccessful (in other words, failed! the ICND
That about tells the story....twice! Have to really review and maybe try the full CCNA rather than ICND for a better mix of questions.
Job progress...more apps, no responses.
IBD progress...excellent! the SCDiet is working wonders. Even lost some prednisone weight.
Volunteer opportunity...Democrats in coming election. Saturday is county convention and I'm a DELEGATE!! Yay!!
The flower bed is looking good as well, which says a lot for how much I've been working on my final project. Which is good, since the diskette I used for what little I'd done wasn't formatted...what was I thinking. That's lost.
» Here's my starting point
Almost ready for ICND exam. I need to review enough to take the voucher exam and get a voucher so I don't have to pay again, since I've already paid for INTRO (and passed, yay!!).

Job Hunt continues. No word from Sxxxx about the job they called about last week, supposedly my resume's in the manager's hands. In the meantime, I'm filling out job apps for part-time retail jobs and hoping something will open up.

SC Diet continues, seems to have made a great improvement in Crohn's symptoms since Feb 1. I tested by going off it yesterday, and symptoms returned immediately and with a vengeance. So at least I know it's the diet and not just general improvement.

Off to class, hope the network is back up. Review, review, review.

Now that my start point is established, I can log on for events only. Like OSPF (a little networking joke there).
